Born and raised in Hull, rapper Chiedu Oraka rose to prominence in 2024 with the release of his first mixtape Misfit, which led to him supporting rappers Skepta and Casisdead and performing on the BBC Music Introducing stage at Glastonbury in 2024.
Praised for his masterful blend of grime, hip-hop and UK garage genres with sharp social commentary on the Black British experience, Oraka won the Best Newcomer award at the 2025 Northern Music Awards, following in the footsteps of Mercury Prize-winning group, English Teacher. He went on to reach his biggest audience yet when he was handpicked by Chris Martin to open for Coldplay on their 2025 Music of the Spheres world tour, to a hometown crowd at Hull's Craven Park. In October 2025 he began a UK headline tour which will see him play his final show at London's The Forge at The Lower Third and he's set to release his new EP Undeniable, produced by Knucks, Ghetts and Giggs collaborator, Dot Inc, on October 31.
