Riverdale star Charles Melton has been named a global ambassador for Special Olympics, aiming to 'end discrimination against people with intellectual disabilities' and promote community and inclusion within sports. The American actor begins his duties with the global sports movement by virtually celebrating the ESPN Top 5 Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools on April 16, and commented 'I am thrilled to join Special Olympics as a Global Ambassador and accelerate my mission to promote inclusion. My experience in the sports world has taught me invaluable lessons like teamwork, camaraderie, and respect. I want to engage my fans and sports enthusiasts alike as I put my game plan in motion'.
Mustafa, a spoken word artist turned singer from Canada, has previously written songs for Usher, Camila Cabello and The Weeknd, and has since established himself as a solo artist. His 2020 breakout single, Stay Alive, commented on the struggles faced by young people growing up in Regent Park (his neighbourhood and Canada’s oldest public housing project), and the 24 year old continued to address the adversity that shaped him with his latest single, Ali, which mourns the loss of his friend who was shot and killed in 2017. Following the release, he announced his debut album, When Smoke Rises, due out on May 28 through his own label Regent Park Songs.
Vogue Williams has announced an upcoming collaboration with Little Mistress, launching six bi-monthly collections with the fashion retailer, dropping July 9. The Little Mistress by Vogue Williams pieces include maxi and mini dresses, and the Irish presenter and DJ, who'll also post behind the scenes content from the partnership on her Instagram feed, commented 'I am delighted to join forces with Little Mistress and bring our design ideas to life. I look forward to sharing the steps along the way, the behind the scenes "how to" from the initial inspiration through to launch'.
Guerlain ambassador Natalia Vodianova has partnered with the French luxury beauty brand for its KissKiss Chain campaign, promoting the KissKiss lipstick and aiming to help save the bees. Through the initiative, people are invited to post their virtual kiss on Instagram using the KissKiss filter, tagging @Guerlain and using the hashtag #GuerlainKissKissChain, and for every post, 10,000 honey-producing trees will be planted by members of the Women for Bees programme, which is run by Guerlain and UNESCO.
Diane von Furstenberg has unveiled her 31 piece collection with H&M Home, including wool blankets, cushion covers, boxes, trays, candles, espresso cups, plates, vases, pots, and a robe, after being announced as a brand collaborator last year. The collaboration 'encourages the world to express themselves in their space and take charge of their interiors', and the veteran Belgian designer commented 'The prints in the H&M HOME collaboration are very iconic. The "Diane" print I created 20 years ago when I started the company, while the lips print comes from the painting Andy Warhol did of me. Personally, I love animal prints - zebra is very DVF - and also vibrant orange and pinks, but monochrome black and white is very chic, too. The whole collection is fabulous, and I can't wait to share it with everyone'.
American model and actress Amber Valletta has extended her partnership with Karl Lagerfeld, designing a second accessories collection, this time for spring 2022, with a continued focus on sustainability. The items are made from cactus leather and recycled cotton, and 'mindful choices' were made while shooting the campaign, such as minimising the amount of travel required, and Valletta commented 'This collaboration shows that we don’t have to sacrifice great style to make responsibly made fashion'.
Reneé Rapp, 21, is set to make her TV debut in 2022 after recently being cast in Mindy Kaling's latest comedy Sex Lives of College Girls. Starring opposite Timothée Chalamet's older sister Pauline, Rapp will play Leighton, a fourth generation legacy student from one of the richest Republican families in New York. The Jimmy Award winning theatre actress, who only graduated from North Carolina's Charlotte Northwest School of the Arts a few years ago, has already made a name for herself in the theatre world after playing Regina George in the Broadway adaption of Tina Fey's blockbuster film Mean Girls.
