Nigerian singer Yemi Alade has been named Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), promoting 'women’s empowerment and a green Covid-19 recovery'. Alade commented 'Women are among the four million people who are trying to survive Covid-19 without any form of social protection. I want to lend my voice to these women and other vulnerable people who make up half of the world that’s struggling to make ends meet. They don’t have the luxury of working from home and are putting their health at risk just to put food on the table'.
Tom Daley has been announced as Marks and Spencer's latest ambassador, starring in a new ad to promote the retailer's Percy Pig toys. The British diver took to Instagram to announce the news, posting 'Who said pigs can’t fly?!...or at least fall with style! The Prince of Wales has joined actors Himesh Patel, Sue Johnston, Emilia Fox, Cel Spellman and Nina Sosanya to highlight the work of Macmillan Cancer Support, and promote the charity's flagship Coffee Morning, September 25. The personalities have each recorded a short film, telling real stories of Macmillan nurses and people with cancer, urging people to host their own coffee mornings and raise funds to support the charity, particularly as Macmillan faces losing a third of its fundraising income this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. Royle Family star Johnston commented 'By getting involved in Coffee Morning, we can all help ensure Macmillan continue to support people with cancer during these unsettling times'.

Grace Kaufman, an American film and TV actress, has followed her family into acting, recently signing up to Apple’s adaptation of Jandy Nelson’s YA novel, The Sky Is Everywhere. Marking her first major film credit, Kaufman will join How I Met Your Mother’s Jason Segal and Succession’s Cherry Jones in the big budget picture. The 18 year old, whose father is voice-actor David Kaufman, has mainly worked in TV, starring opposite Matt Le Blanc in Man With a Plan and The Last Ship, and has won a Best Actress award at the HollyShorts Film Festival.

US based transgender model and one of The Media Eye's Rising Stars, Aaron Philip, has been unveiled as the new face of Moschino. The Italian fashion house announced the news on social media, posting 'Trans model Aaron Philip has been announced as the face of Moschino's AW20 campaign. Now THAT'S a serve, honey... The model, who you may remember from Miley Cyrus's "Mother's Daughter" music video, is the first Black, transgender, and physically disabled model to be signed to a big agency and the Moschino autumn/winter 2020 collection will mark the 19 year old's first big splash for a high-fashion campaign'.
Countryfile presenter Adam Henson has lent his support to the Guide Dogs charity, starring in a video in which he learns about the buddy dog service. Henson met Evie, 16, and her buddy dog Uma, who 'helps her to overcome barriers around her vision impairment', and he commented 'When my late nephew Ben lost his sight at five years old, it brought home to me the challenges facing families with a visually-impaired child. Animals had a wonderfully calming and therapeutic influence on him, dogs in particular, so I fully understand the incredible impact that Uma has had on Evie... listening to her explain how Uma has given her back her confidence was inspiring'.
