American model, actress and activist Hunter Schafer has been named as the latest global makeup ambassador for Shiseido. The Euphoria star commented 'I like how [Shiseido] treats makeup as a form of art... I think we both agree on using makeup not to appeal to some standard, but to bring how you feel outwards'.
Zoe Sugg has collaborated with cosmetics brand Lush and #IAMWHOLE, the mental health campaign co-founded by Rizzle Kicks' Jordan Stephens, to announce the launch of Digital Detox Day, September 5. The project aims to raise awareness of the negative effects social media can have on people's health, and encourages users to 'step away' from social media for a whole day, to 'take time out for their mental health and themselves'. Sugg, aka Zoella, commented 'I love social media, it’s incredible in so many ways.... However, as the years have progressed and social media has grown in size, it’s clear that it has its flaws too. Comparison, criticism, cyberbullying, a disconnect from reality and real life.... This is why I am so happy to be working with Lush and #IAMWHOLE on the very first Digital Detox Day campaign'.
EastEnders star Emma Barton has been announced as patron of The Queen Elizabeth Foundation for Disabled People (QEF)'s Survive and Thrive emergency appeal. The British actress recently visited the charity's new Care and Rehabilitation Centre in Surrey, and commented 'As a Surrey resident for more than 20 years, I was honoured to be asked to support QEF’s emergency "Survive and Thrive" appeal. Their work enables children and adults with disabilities to be as independent as possible - helping each person to live the life they choose. They change peoples’ lives'.
Adeline Rudolph, a German-Korean actress, is set to go from TV sidekick to leading actress, having just been cast as the title role in the upcoming Quibi show Tomie, based on Junji Ito’s horror manga series. Currently starring in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, the 25 year old was a successful model in the European and Hong Kong fashion markets before venturing into acting, and has a degree from UCL.
Vick Hope has joined BBC Radio 1 as the new co-host of Sunday afternoon show Life Hacks, and The Official Chart: First Look on Sunday evenings, commencing both roles September 6. The Newcastle-born presenter is best recognised for her three year stint as Capital FM's breakfast show host, as well as her appearances on MTV, Channel 4 and Strictly Come Dancing, and commented 'Joining the BBC Radio 1 family is an absolute dream come true.... Emma Willis has launched a new collection with Next, featuring 'key autumnwear staples with a 70s feel', including tailored trousers, shirts and footwear. The TV presenter and mother-of-three emphasised comfort and functionality as priorities for the new collection, adding 'A favourite of mine is the camel suit... I love suits, mainly to wear with a trainer and a T-shirt but I didn’t own one in this colour... we’ve gone quite 70s with shape and colour palette for this season'. Lizzo has launched her second collection of sunglasses in collaboration with Quay Australia. The Good As Hell hitmaker and Quay are also partnering with the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund and the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, donating $100k to 'lift barriers' and encourage people to vote in America. Lizzo said 'Voting is a big way to contribute and to feel like we're making a change. But the power of voting in midterm and local elections wasn't something I was taught in school. I want to be part of informing future generations of our power'.
