Rising Stars: Kenny Mason

Kenny Mason, an Atlanta based rapper, has been praised by Complex and Hypebeast for bringing a fresh perspective to the rap scene, with his ‘impressive’ technical skills on breakout song HIT garnering him millions of replays. Shunning traditional trap sounds, the 24 year old is using influences of Lil Wayne, the Pixies and Smashing Pumpkins on his more lyrical approach to follow up singles Angelic Hoodrat and Metal Wings. Despite looking up to high-profile Atlanta rappers Gucci Mane, T.I and Outcast, Mason isn’t trying to follow in their footsteps, instead putting his own stamp on the south’s rap game.
