Rising Stars: Kayi Ushe

Kayi Ushe, who has appeared in stage productions of The Book of Mormon, Motown The Musical and Crazy For You, is set to take on one of his biggest roles to date, starring as Simba in The Lion King. Playing the part for the first time, the actor will be joined by new faces and returning cast members at the Lyceum Theatre, as it reopens in July after being forced to close due to Covid-19. Commenting on his casting, Ushe told WhatsOnStage ‘I feel grateful and beyond excited. To be playing Simba in The Lion King on the Lyceum Theatre stage is a dream come true’.
