Gary Lineker, Rachel Riley and Eddie Izzard back CCDH campaign

Personalities including Rachel Riley, Gary Lineker, Eddie Izzard, Richard Osman, Nick Hewer, Natasha Devon, Sadiq Khan, Aisling Bea, and Nimco Ali have teamed up with The Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), spearheading a new campaign encouraging fans to to mute, block and report users who post 'abhorrent and derogatory comments' on social media. CCDH's Don't Feed The Trolls report draws on research to 'explore the psychology of trolling, why trolls behave the way they do, and the best way to deal with them', and Match of the Day presenter Lineker commented 'We've all be shocked by the way in which racist trolls have been targeting footballers recently... Everyone across the sporting world will be grateful for this guide on how we can show online trolls the red card: don't rise to the bait; block the trolls; and take some time out'.
